Summer trees make me feel fine...

The Redwood Forest

I've dreamt of the Redwoods since I was a little girl. I always imagined that standing in that forest amongst the ancient giant trees would be a life changing event. No doubt if you weren't already aware of the fact that we are very small and insignificant, you felt it standing there.
Definitely the only way to capture the hugeness of the Redwood trees is to photograph people standing next to them. I still have not been able to explain with words the feeling of being surrounded by giants.

This picture is a little out of focus but I still love it. The brightness of the big leaf maple tree is breathtaking. It glows green!
