“I always like walking in the rain, so no one can see me crying.” ~ Charlie Chaplin

What once was the best day of our lives is now just a date etched on your headstone to remind anyone that happens to pass by, that you once lived, and that you died at age eleven.

Today you’d be sixteen.

"So take heed, take heed of the western wind
Take heed of the stormy weather
And yes, there's something you can send back to me
  Spanish boots of Spanish leather.”

This record not only contains phenomenal music, but I love that it’s bright red and see-through. I find myself taking it out of the sleeve periodically throughout the day just to delight in its beauty.

For a brief moment I thought Mount St. Helens was erupting.

David Bowie Moonage Daydream live ’73.
Make sure to stay for Mick Ronson’s guitar solo starting at about 3:20.
I’m sure I didn’t need to tell you to stick around, you’ll be captivated.

I went on a nice hike through the Hoyt Arboretum today. It has 12 miles of trails and over a thousand different species of trees. It’s only a mile from my apt and I had no idea it was there. I came upon these giant Sequoia trees. I’m feeling pretty foolish that I didn’t discover it until today.

Ancient Magnolia

I am in love with this Magnolia tree in the park. What a magnificent tree! It has huge beautiful flowers, thick furry pods, and no leaves. I read that Magnolias are 100 million years old, even more ancient than bees. It has easily become one of my favorite trees.

I saw this while going through my photos and it reminded me how badly I miss the sunshine and warmth.
Sunshine, I need you!

"We all want to belong to something more than ourselves
You can’t always do it alone.
Sometimes you just need a little help.
I ran so far that I forgotten what I was running from.
Time it takes you so far and I’m longing to be back home."

The Heart Has Narrow Banks ~ Emily Dickenson

The Heart has narrow Banks
It measures like the Sea
In mighty - unremitting Bass
And Blue monotony

Till Hurricane bisect
And Itself discerns
It’s insufficient Area
The Heart convulsive learns

That Calm is but a Wall
Of Unattempted Gauze
An instant’s Push demolishes
A Questioning - dissolves.
 ~ Emily Dickinson
